Follow along with Robert Leonard Reid as he gets swept up in the mystery and beauty of the North. Fascinated by the Porcupine Caribou herd, he travels deeper and deeper into the Arctic searching for ivvavik, the Inuit name for the promised place where, at the end of a long migration, the caribou give birth and raise their young. The great mystery of this migration and its centrality to the life of the caribou absorbs Robert, who finds in their land a refuge of his own, and begins to think deeply about the costs of its loss.
