VISIT THE MUSEUM! The Museum of the Fur Trade is open every day, 8 to 5, Memorial Day through the month of September. Admission is $5 for adults (18 and over) and children are free. Otherwise by appointment. Please call 308-432-3843, or e-mail museum@furtrade.org. The museum is located at 6321, three miles east of Chadron, Nebraska, on U. S. Highway 20, in the northwest corner of Nebraska, once the homeland of Crazy Horse, Spotted Tail, and Red Cloud. The museum is on the route to Yellowstone and the Black Hills are 60 miles north. The original Cabela’s on I-80 and Hwy 385, south of Chadron and number one attraction in Nebraska, is a great place to leave the interstate and to begin seeing the legendary west of America.
